Danny Garcia walked for miles carrying a Peace Pole for World Peace-October 17-26,2008

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Danny Garcia completes 25,000 Miles for Children and World Peace.

When Danny Garcia took his first steps in 1996 toward a personal commitment to peace, he could scarcely fathom that he would continue walking globally nearly 25,000 miles, more than the circumference of the earth.

Garcia stated, “My walks have always sought to bring attention to the plight of children, especially those ravaged by war.  I have seen such beauty in the people of all nations, coexisting with devastation and poverty.  I’m grateful to God and to each and every person who has been with me along the way and has witnessed what I have seen.  My message has been and remains, Love One Another.”

Danny embarked on foot from Washington DC and traveled through Baltimore, Philadelphia, Trenton, Newark and other towns, ending his walk on October 25th, in New York City, while carrying a Peace Pole inscribed with the prayer “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”

Hiddenbrooke is a 103-acre land parcel that now preserves the woods, streams and meadows of a particularly beautiful place located in Beacon, New York.

On Sunday October 5th 2008, Shannon Murphy, Artist Matt Kinney and a group of dedicated individuals from Beacon met at Beacon’s Peace Park and Peace Pole at the corner of Route 9D and Main Street. The event was a Walk for Peace from one established Peace Pole to dedicate a handcrafted Peace Totem installed deep in the woods on Hiddenbrooke’s 103 acres.

If you ever do get a moment take a walk into these forgotten breathtaking woods and feel the spirituality of “May Peace Prevail On Earth” with this hidden Peace Totem in these sacred woods of Hiddenbrooke. It is well worth the moment in time to experience.

We are most humble in our endeavor to inspire thousands of children throughout the world. It has been such a joy to know that these children and teens, excitedly await in anticipation, year after year to express their creativity and talent in our Peace Pals International Art Exhibition. The network of participants and countries continue to expand! More than four thousand drawings from thirty-nine countries were submitted by the world’s future artists and peacemakers who have embraced the Universal Message May Peace Prevail On Earth with such impeccable detail to compliment this year’s theme “Friendship.”

It fills our hearts to “see” through their eyes, how they view their world, with the promise of hope, with the innocence and fearlessness of their love for one another, nature and the animal kingdom. They truly get it!

Let us applaud them ALL. They are ALL winners!

In the spirit of Community, Unity and Universal Oneness,
