Peace through Astrology at The World Peace Sanctuary
Age of Aquarius

September 15th, 2012
Theme: Peace through Astrology in the Age of Aquarius and how it relates to science, self and society at large.

A group of community members came together for a Community Potluck Peace Discussion to learn the connection between Astrology & Science and the correlation between “all life on earth” in conjunction with the Universe.

Eleanor Johnson, has been practicing and teaching astrology since 1977. Eleanor’s basic explanation of the cosmic interaction— is all about creating, discovering, and encountering new and unique manifestations of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. To allow ourselves to search for, stumble upon, and joyfully strive for new ways to express LOVE — and in that manner to form the invisible thread to link each one of us, in the collective quest and the sum total of love in our particular universe.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony at Omega Institute on the International Day of Peace-Rhinebeck, New York-USA

September 21st, 2012

In honor of the International Day of Peace (IDP), Ann Marie Robustelli of The World Peace Prayer Society presented a World Peace Prayer Ceremony, with the assistance from Dennis Rooney, a life long resident of Amenia, NY and community volunteer. Together they officially dedicated the Peace Pole, which was purchased and planted many years ago in the Omega Institute Peace Garden. Flag cards were used to represent every country in the world, in lieu of WPPS County Flags to accommodate the venue. More than 700 people who were present on campus this day to attend various workshops, were simply in awe of
this very special World Peace Ceremony. Directors, keynote speakers and attendees, stopped by to participate, take photographs and inquire about the WPPC and the Peace Pole Project.

Later, Ann Marie brought ShopPeace items to the Omega Book/Gift Shop with hope to collaborate with Omega to help support WPPS in spreading the
Universal Peace Message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth.” The Executive Shop Manager was very receptive.

Saturday, July 7th, 2012

A day long World Peace Prayer Pilgrimage, hosted by Ann Marie Robustelli of WPPS, attended by 26 members primarily from Greece and some from the greater NY area, organized by WPPS Peace Representative, Angelica Cubides.

Ann Marie gave a welcoming introduction and explanation of WPPS Mission, Universal Peace Message and how it is administered through Projects & Programs.

Angelica gave a beautiful speech; she spoke about the years with WPPS as a volunteer Peace Representative. Angelica gave gratitude for WPPS’s Mission and the loyalty of WPPS staff and its members, whom, whole heartedly embrace the Universal Peace Message, May Peace Prevail On Earth.

It was a day of prayers for World Peace, starting with blessing one another, and then as a group walked up the Peace Path, which led to the Ceremonial Field, to the foot of Berkshire Mountains and beyond.

Later in the evening, back at WPPS headquarters, the group gathered with the opening invocation for a World Peace Prayer Ceremony, together declaring…, “May Peace Prevail On Earth!” “May Peace Prevail On Earth!” May Peace Prevail On Earth!” Each person, spontaneously, and with enthusiasm and love announced country names in no specific order, closing in unison…. “May Peace Prevail On Earth!”

This was followed by a pot luck dinner held outdoors, as the sun was setting west. Beautiful and Blessed! May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Youth Art Peace Pole-Project 50 Launch-Indiana, USA

June 23rd-25, 2012

In June of 2012 the International and United States Societies For Education Through Art held their annual conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. It was at this conference that Jim Dugan (staff member at The World Peace Sanctuary) chose to formally launch YAPPP- Youth Art Peace Pole Project – Project 50. This endeavor will enlist one art educator in each of the 50 United States to design and create a full size Peace Pole with their students and to then have their Peace Pole displayed on the International Day of Peace 2014. Jim drove out to Indiana with his wife Jackie sharing the driving and manning the YAPPP information booth throughout the conference.

The YAPPP information booth was seen by everyone in attendance and Jim was also a speaker at the conference with one of the better attended plenaries.
Stayed tuned for more information on the YAPPP in the coming year.

WPFC at Gathering of the Vibes, Connecticut-USA

July 19th-22nd, 2012

Once again Jim Dugan (staff member at The World Peace Sanctuary) led a World Peace Flag Ceremony at the Gathering of the Vibes Music and Arts Festival and again this year was joined by world famous Peace Activist “Wavy Gravy.”

Gathering of the Vibes” draws 25,000 attendees annually, mostly camping on site, to this renowned and revered 4 day music fest. For the World Peace Flag Ceremony the Kids Peace Parade was outfitted with many dozen world flags and marched from the “Kids Corner” across the venue to the front of the main stage as the Flag Ceremony began. Several thousand people joined directly in the World Peace Flag Ceremony and it was heard by nearly everyone in all the campgrounds. At the “Vibes” numerous Peace Poles are installed around this several hundred acre concert venue with one Peace Pole on every stage for the entire 4-day event. These on-stage Peace Poles shared the spotlight this year with rock icons like: Primus, the remaining members of the Grateful Dead, Steel Pulse and The Avett Brothers.

In previous years at the Vibes these Peace Poles have been on stage with Crosby, Stills and Nash, Jimmy Cliff, Jane’s Addiction and Elvis Costello and well over a hundred other famous acts. In addition to the World Peace Flag Ceremony we had our event booth up and running for all four days. Due to our long standing relationship with the Gathering of the Vibes we were given a prime booth location at the entrance to the main concert field that provided access to everyone at the show. The World Peace Prayer Society booth was manned by Jim, his wife Jackie, daughter Hannah and dedicated World Peace volunteer, Ebon Joiner.

The WPPS booth generated the greatest public exposure and phenomenal sales of our peace merchandise, which bear the
message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth.” We thank the “Vibe Tribe” for
their strong and continued support.

Fall Equinox World Peace Ceremony at The World Peace Sanctuary-USA

September 22, 2012

Back in the Spring-2012, Jim Dugan started leading quarterly World Peace Prayer Ceremonies on the newly refurbished Peace Path at The World Peace Sanctuary and has continued in honor of the Summer Solstice and the recent Fall Equinox. On each of these evenings a group of local Peace conscious people get together and walk up the Peace Path, praying for people in each of the UN Member States starting at the Peace Pole that represents Afghanistan ending at the Peace Pole representing Zimbabwe, with all stating in unison “May Peace be in…” then “Country Name” of the Peace Pole we were at. Special prayers and wishes were stated for each Country that needed some extra prayerful energy sent its way and then stating aloud “May Peace Prevail On Earth” frequently throughout the process.

At this Fall Ceremony we had a special guest speaker, Lama Sanje who came and performed a Fire Puja to help us all spread peace here and beyond. Please join us for the Winter Solstice World Peace Ceremony here at The World Peace Sanctuary on December 21st at 6:30 PM. We will have a simple pot-luck that evening after the Ceremony.
