Dr. Chief Arvol Looking Horse

It was an honor to be  in the presence of Dr. Chief Arvol Looking Horse, “Keeper of the Sacred Pipe” Lakota/Sioux Nation and Founding Advisory Board member of The World Peace Prayer Society.  Chief Arvol Looking Horse led the group in a very sacred ( peace pipe- c’anunpa) prayer ceremony offering prayers of gratitude and prayers for healing for Mother Earth and All Life on Earth!

As the youth were preparing to start the run, two red-tailed hawks circled above—an unexplainable sense of “well being”was clearly present among all.

Art class in Japanese High school / Peace Pals International Art Contest

Friday, June 20th, 2014

Warm greetings to the Peace Makers around the world from Japan,

My wife and I are running Peace education programs “Earth Kids Space” in two locations in Iwate Prefecture, in north-eastern Japan. “Earth Kids Space” programs are promoted by the Goi Peace Foundation in Oshu city and Ichinoseki city

In 2011 Earth Kids of  Iwate was asked to participate in the Peace Pals Art Exhibition and Awards by the WPPS Japan office.

The theme of the contest was very timely for Earth Kids in Iwate, since we were hit by the Great Eastern Japan Earth Quake and Tsunami and we wanted to respond to the kind messages from the various countries to Japan.  We are very happy that some of our children were chosen each year as winners or finalists since then.  Earth Kids children will participate in the contest this year again.

I have been giving classes as an art lecturer at Senmaya high school since this April when the Japanese new school year started. The upper age limit was 16, so it was my first idea that I will give my 10th grade students a chance.  Indeed school curriculum schedule is tight, so I decided to let my students who finished their task early to work on the contest.

The students seemed to be very new to paint such a theme given by the contest, so they struggled finding an idea for their painting, but still they enjoyed.  I teach my students in my class that “True Art contains the consciousness of positively creating peace.”  The students experienced finding such a consciousness within themselves through this art production for the contest.

Dear All,

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of young asylum seekers and refugees from Anniesland College in Glasgow, Scotland.  These young vibrant people, from some of the most dangerous countries in the world, inspired us with their energy and pure vision for the future.  We prayed for the peace of the world in our wildlife garden, and they also spent a morning volunteering in the grounds.  We are a true global family.  May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Infinite love,

Salaam for Syria “Benefiz” Day-May Peace Prevail On Earth! – GERMANY

May 29th, 2014

Dear All,

I am sharing photographs taken at the Syria”BENEFIZ” Day ( Charity Day) in my neighboring community. The purpose was to raise funds to purchase dialysis machines which are so desperately needed in the large refugee camps in the neighboring countries of Syria.

Lebanon for example has 1 million Syrian refugees now, but the chronically ill refugees suffer the most, because there is not enough medicine to administer.

The 400 attendees including the German volunteers in our neighboring community and the Syrian refugees made miracles happen yesterday!

Stickers which bear the message, May Peace Prevail On Earth (MPPOE) in  Arabic were offered by supporters to raise funds for this worthy cause.

The stickers were distributed at the front entrance by the poster which displayed the peace message (MPPOE).  (Hope you can see the peace message (MPPOE) on the flower napkins.)

The drinking cups which you see in the photograph had the peace message (MPPOE) written in Arabic and were also sold to raise funds.

10,000 EUROS in donations were collected. HOORAY!

I am so happy for these wonderful Syrians whom I met under very sad circumstances; they enriched the lives of everyone who attended with their “Oriental Love for Life.”

In another photograph you see us dancing.

The stories about the journey of the Syrian refugees, waiting for the boats, and then to finally arrive in Sicily brought tears to everyone who stood by to listen, ultimately they kept their faith and continued to pray, each day,  during the 9-day journey on rough sea and now they are here, safe in Germany for at least 3 years … that is the time allowance for their stay, at least initially.

May Peace Prevail in Syria!  May Peace Prevail On Earth!
