The special Peace Pole was crafted from a walnut tree from the 100 year old walnut grove which is part of the World Peace Sanctuary in Amenia, NY.  Some trees in the grove were felled due to overcrowding and our peace pole maker, Jim Dugan, crafted these walnut peace poles for special occasions.  Prayers and intentions of global peace has been infused in each and every walnut tree in the grove over the last 30 years since the opening of the Peace Sanctuary.  We are happy that one of them found their way to the United Nations.
