Commitment to Service-May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Sunday, July 8th, 2012

I say WPPS has Wonderful Peace Elves! Thank you Ann Marie.

I am attaching two photographs of a Peace Pole planted in 2008 at the Best Friend Society in Utah. Our rescue site was in Tylertown, Missouri, which now also has a Peace Pole. The pictures are from a big day of book signing and acknowledging the excellent work and dedication of those involved in the Hurricane Katrina Rescue Effort in Alabama, Los Angeles and Missouri.

It was also a day of honoring animals lost and saved and re-uniting with rescuers from all over the USA.

The “Best Friends” organization did an A+ performance in operating an Animal Rescue Sanctuary.

Peace Pole Dedication in Zdar – CZECH REPUBLIC

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

April 15th, 2012

Zdar is an old village near Mlada Boleslaw in Czech Republic. In this village is an Aikido Club Zdar and pension established by Mr. Karel Patek and his wife Helena.

Mr. Patek is a retired Prague University teacher of physics and a successful businessman and president of a computer company. But he decided to leave Prague- (which is the Capital of Czech Republic) a few years ago and move with his family to Zdar. As an Aikido instructor he established his own Dojo and he teaches Aikido to local people.

On April 15th, 2012, Mr. Patek’s planted a Peace Pole on his personal property near the Aikido Club and had a Peace Pole dedication ceremony. Participants included friends from the Netherlands, Aikido Club members, community members and Jacek Kozloski, WPPS Peace Representative in Poland.

Karel and Jacek explained the meaning of this special Universal Peace Message “May Peace Prevail On Earth.”

Participants were each given a piece of paper and asked to write their own personal peace message. Peace messages were then placed inside the Peace Pole.

Upon concluding the Peace Pole dedication, Karel with his family chanted a beautiful prayer together. Then everyone stood in a circle around the Peace Pole and announced “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in English, Japanese, Czech, Polish and Dutch, together in harmony and love.

World Peace Prayer and Flag Ceremony, Milano-ITALY

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

April 1st, 2012

We had a wonderful World Peace Prayer and Flag Ceremony (WPFC) in Milano, Italy.

It was the first official (public) WPFC in Milano, at Centro Asteria during a beautiful event, “Oriente sui Navigli” (Orient on the Channel), which was especially dedicated to Japan. It was a very rich and profound event with many panel exhibitions and video showings about Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Fukushima and other northern Japan areas hit by Tsunami. This was a good occasion for people to reflect on the use of nuclear power.

The event included: talented singers and skillful Italian Taiko drummers, Japanese Calligraphy, Ikebana, a lot of Japanese beautiful kokeshi (wooden dolls) martial art demonstrations and a Mandala exhibition, which was not in the program but when I showed ten or more mandalas I had with me (I had them with me because I taught five mandala classes at a junior high school near Como before coming to Milano), they all loved them so much, they created a space for them to be displayed.

Also, the Japanese Ambassador of Milano was invited to attend the event, by the Centro Asteria institute.

We had a fantastic WPFC with 200 small children, comprised of first, second and third grade elementary school students. They were so small and so cute!! Their teachers were so wonderful and supportive; they did a fantastic job with guiding the student flag bearers to take on the role as ambassador for each country. The big theatre was filled with more than 500 people in attendance. It was a joyful ceremony with those small angels.

A lot of peace ceremonies in Italy this year, and I am sure Caterina and others are having or planning other gatherings, too.

Latter part of April, I am scheduled to meet three different spiritual groups in southern Italy, and happily so, to share the teachings of Mr. Goi and Mrs. Masami Saionji.

I feel like we are needed, to facilitate WPFC, Peace Pole plantings, SOPP, and prayer gatherings here in Italy, much more than past years. Italy is facing a big transformation, a big shift, for sure, and we are supporting the evolution with our prayers.

Peace Pole Dedication – St Bernard’s Church, Sharon, Connecticut- USA

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

September 11, 2011

It was a lovely day outside St Bernard’s Church in Sharon where approximately 50 people gathered to dedicate a Peace Pole and pray for world peace. Fr. Francis led his parishioners in front of the Peace Pole and briefly spoke about his purpose of planting it as a reminder to think and pray for peace, particularly on this occasion of the 9-11 Tenth Anniversary. Together we prayed the prayer, “May Peace Prevail On Earth” followed by declaring the peace prayer for every continent in the world, and a moment of silent meditation to offer peace, love and forgiveness throughout the world. It was truly a heartwarming day to see and participate with everyone as they enthusiastically prayed for peace.

Santa Claus brings “PEACE” at Christmas – Nocera Umbra, ITALY

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

December-2010
Dear beautiful WPPS family,

We just finished a beautiful Peace Pole dedication and a flag ceremony in a small town near Assisi, called Nocera Umbra. The mayor and the cultural local councillor of the town planned this special event on the theme of Christmas, “Saint Claus brings PEACE at Christmas!” I was invited to hold a WPPC in collaboration with Ananda Community. Many people from Ananda joined us and their joy and their purity moved and encouraged us again. Their faces always shine so gloriously with love. Such beautiful people!!

Representing WPPS, I gave a short speech, then our Jasmine, only 19 years old is angelic. She is a representative of youth or new generation. She offered her beautiful loving words. It is so precious to see such a pure elevated soul in youth. I wish you a sweet Christmas full of love and gentleness, and a shining 2011!

Infinite Love and Peace,
Sonoko Tanaka, WPPS Peace Representative in Italy
