Hi Ann Marie,

Here are a few photographs of our newest Peace Pole planted at The Thomas E. Chew Boys and Girls Club of Fall River.

The Peace Pole was completely designed by kids with the help of Americorp member, Syed Zaman (gentleman wearing bandana) who is also the Youth Leadership Coordinator for Boys & Girls Club of Fall River.

The Teal lights you see on the Peace Pole in the photograph is for Sexual Assault Awareness month. We have dressed all the Peace Poles in town as part of our awareness month proclamations:

Purple for Domestic Violence Awareness
Teal for Sexual Assault Awareness
Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Green for Earth Day

Seek peace and persue it!
May Peace Prevail On Earth!

April is Poetry Month ~ Let Peace Prevail In This World……

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Let Peace Prevail In This World……

When you look for peace
then the peace lies within you

When you search for peace
then it is not hard to find

When you want to keep peace alive
then you allow white doves to fly over you

When you make peace with others
then the whole world live in your heart

When you let peace be in the world
then you live in wonderful world

When you allow peace flow around the world
then your hateness will go and love will flow

When you open the door for peace
then peace welcome to your lives.

Let the peace prevail in our wonderful world

May Peace Prevail On Earth!

April is Poetry Month ~ “A Call”

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

A CALL

Sitting and thinking, wondering why
Knowing from within, that we all shall die
We can’t runaway, there’s no escape
For someday tomorrow, we’ll all reach that bend

But why is it done in a ruthless way
Why do we kill, our innocence and youth!
Why do we slaughter, peace in our lives!
What will we gain!
When knowing someday
That we’ll all fade away

Death is a promise, Life is a brief
No road for eternal
Except in goodwill deeds

Oh dear nations wake up
No one is superb
Don’t follow that fiend,
His way is well known,
He’s a very bad end
Start loving one another
Grant harmony to our lives
Cause this is the option!
For fronting good drives

April is Poetry Month ~ “I Have A Poem”

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

I Have A Poem
I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll spread the message with its fires
Towards the planets with holocausts or killings
A poem that’ll talk about reality amongst the
Communities tortured and marginalized
A poem that’ll be against female mutilations
With sex violation and child abuse
A poem that’ll sail on the oceans, seas
And lakes.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll flow deep in the hearts of mankind
Imagination with persecution and murder
A poem that’ll transform many faces from sadness
To joy in the season of revolt
A poem that’ll fly above the moons, stars
And suns.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll born the richness of solidarity
For the poor and needy ethnicities
A poem that’ll climb the mountains with rocks
Against the tribal war and hatred
A prayer that’ll linger across the borders, horizons
And skies.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll never accept dictatorships
But the democracy to embrace the integrity and equality
A poem that’ll victoriously shines in the midst
Of darkness to steer the world for light
A poem that’ll challenge the axis of conflicts, hunger
And war.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll change the masses from
Racialism and imperialism to harmony that prevails
A poem that’ll face no fear on the Leaders
Of the earth in the nuclear advancement
A poem that’ll heal the children, mothers
And fathers.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll sweep away intimidation
And humiliation of racism
A poem that’ll stand by the justice
Towards the sufferers and victims on soil of
Terrorism and Aids stigma
A poem that’ll bring the new dawn
To the less fortunate, disabled
And the poor.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll resist the subjugation towards
The innocent creation and nature burning
A poem that’ll uphold our dignity and rights
Against the imperialists nightmares storms
A poem that’ll reign on the rivers, streams
And valleys.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll fight for my rights, your destiny
Against poverty and violence
A poem that’ll take its paths on the clouds
Of machinations with tribalism
To bring back reconciliation within the dust
Of bloodshed of massacre
A poem that’ll call for the struggle
Against the tyrants holding the oppressions
And discrimination towards culture
A poem that’ll condem the child trafficking, slavery
And child soldier.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll reflect on the lives
Living in despair with no hope for future
A poem that’ll free the deprived races
From the rising massacre and destruction
A poem that’ll boldly demonstrate against
Military dominance within the humanity dignity
A poem that’ll swiftly tread in the slums, towns
And cities.

I have a poem for peace to the world
A poem that’ll curse child Labour,
And early marriage on the rise
A poem that’ll condem and break all arms, bullets
And bombs to justice that prevails
A poem with the vision to the mission
Against inhumanity, IMPUNITY
And injustice.

Yes!
I have a poem for peace to the world

A poem!
Like Martin Luther King had
A Dream.

April is Poetry Month ~ “The Wave, the Rope, the Sword and The Golden Key of Mankind”

“The Wave, the Rope, the Sword and The Golden Key of Mankind” The Time Series Poems

By ReAwakennd Poet Andrew Kaen

Crashing the shore against
The multitude of love bathing
Our craving soul-quenching thirst,
Revitalized
By the exhaustive waves,
Of incredible dimensions,
Rainbows everywhere,
Swarm into the magnitude,
Of our Divine Being,
Asking for us to plea,
On our knees for our breath,
Holds lock and key,
And our forgiveness,
Answers our mercy,
For cries, for joy, for love,
All rest aside,
Upon the waves of our soul,
Flavors of all taste,
Flavors in all form,
Favors that we have bestowed,
Upon our very core,
Are now restored;
Here lies victory,
For the saints are marching in,
And the ships are pulling in,
And the rope that ties the golden sounds
To our gravity,
Hook, line and sinker,
No longer do we have to sink down
To the shores of man,
We will have found the hook,
When we realize the following lines:
That all along we have forgotten,
That we have forgotten the way,
Home,
How almighty the sword is, that rises
Above sea level,
This almighty multi-jeweled sword, in size and grip
Symbolizes not just the violence we have chosen,
For so many many years,
The wounds that have been made leaving us scarred,
Yet symbolizes the truth that shall set us free,
Now and only now can we truly see the way,
Why it is so,
That we have taken so long?
Why is not the word,
The word is time,
The time is now,
And now is time,
For us to breathe new harmony into our lungs,
(We have fallen and we can get up)
And pray for forgiveness,
(For all that we have done as the Human Race)
(And forgive thy neighbor where Thy Kingdom Shall Come)
Pray for renewal (for the New Dawn is Rising)
And Pray for World Peace,
May Peace Prevail on Earth.
Amen.
