"May Peace Prevail On Earth" at the Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival- Croton-on-Hudson-USA

JUNE 16th & 17th, 2012

Inspired by singer songwriter Pete Seeger’s desire to clean up the river over forty years ago, the Great Hudson River Revival initially helped raise funds to build the sloop Clearwater, which has since become a world-renowned floating classroom and a symbol of effective grassroots action. Today the movement is still strong and is celebrated at the annual Revival which has grown into one of the largest environmental celebrations.

At the recent Clearwater Revival, staff of the World Peace Prayer Society displayed a booth in the activist area. The event was held in beautiful Croton Point Park along the Hudson River highlighting well known local artists, musicians and activists.

Hundreds of people came by the booth to learn more about the activities of WPPS. It was encouraging to find that many people had already planted Peace Poles or had seen one in their community.
