Our Chapel celebrated The International Day of Peace with a special multifaith prayer and candle lighting service, with participants including:
Ven. Jixing, President, Buddhist Association, Carmel, NY (Buddhist peace meditation), Sunera Rahman, Representative Westchester Muslim Society (Islamic message and prayer), Suzanne Ironbiter, PhD (Vedic peace prayer chant), Bear Walker (Native American Four Direction’s peace prayer and drumming), Rona Levine (Jewish reflections on the light), Hans Hallundbaek, Pastor (Christian – St. Francis peace prayer).

The service culminated in a festive re-dedication of the Chapel’s Peace Pole with flags from many countries, led by Interfaith minister Rev. Deborah Moldow, UN Representative for The World Peace Prayer Society.

Friends and visitors joined in this local effort for global peace and reconciliation.

May Peace Prevail on Earth.
