Solo exhibition by New York based artist Peter Sutherland, comprised of film, photography and sculpture and the Peace Pole Project in London, ENGLAND

6 – 9 pm, Thursday, November 19, 2015

Peter Sutherland (b.1976 Ann Arbor, MI, USA) lives and works in New York. His self titled solo exhibition at Kinman addresses themes and concepts that concern niche urban subcultures, contextualized paradoxically with footage and imagery that captures the vastness and expanse of the American wilderness.

Sutherland’s film ‘Stray Light’ makes references to numerous social and humanitarian issues, amongst themes concerning youth culture.

A collision of footage collected from around the world over the past decade, the viewer is immersed within a collage of hypnotic and illusionary moving imagery, confronted with utilitarian and ephemeral material.

Other works within the exhibition include functional concrete / wooden street benches, which integrate shots of the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands in Utah, a series of photo collages depicting Black Cats Fire Crackers and a commissioned Peace Pole from the Peace Pole Project (www.peacepoleproject.org).
