Peace Pole planted in 1988-Kapellendorf, East Germany

This black and white photograph is of a Peace Pole dedicaton that  took place 21 years ago in East Germany, sponsored by The World Peace Prayer Society in Japan. 

We received wonderful news that the Peace Pole is still there, planted firmly and standing vigil for peace.

“This took place during a time when it was not so easy to import something into East Germany. It involved a lot of patience and documents.  I just think these black and white photos are special.”
