Peace Pole and Peace Pals Art exhibited in Millerton, New York, USA

May 1st and 2nd, 2010

The World Peace Prayer Society’s (WPPS) Peace Pole and Peace Pals Art Exhibition joined over 100 artists at the Spring for Art Show weekend in Millerton, New York.

Ann Marie Robustelli of The World Peace Sanctuary, headquarters of WPPS joined the many artists from the tri-state area to proudly display The Peace Pole, handcrafted at The World Peace Sanctuary and Peace Pals International children’s Artwork, submitted by youth from around the world.

Ann Marie explained the importance of self expression by utilizing the arts and creativity to build community and foster greater human understanding and world peace. She said, “The true meaning of community is where individuals and groups are collectively involved in the creative process to nurture self-worth, strengthen relationships and celebrate the diversity of life and that is the essences of our work at The World Peace Prayer Society, through The Peace Pole Project and Peace Pals International. May Peace Prevail On Earth!”

Artist participation doubled to 100! Eclectic, eccentric and electric are all adjectives one could use to describe Millerton’s Spring for Art evening on May 1, when nearly every business in town—from Elyse Harney Real Estate and Gilmor Glass to Little Gates & Company and the Motorworks—exhibited work by local artists, and served wine and cheese. The warm weather contributed to the street-party atmosphere as giddy merchants anticipated a busy summer season now that Millerton has evolved—to the shock and delight of many who’ve been around town for more than a decade—into a day-trip destination.
