Peace Pole spotted  in Amqui, Quebec – Canada

The fall season is definitely upon us bringing glorious colours! I hope your days are as bright.

Mary and I enjoyed a fantastic road trip around the Gaspe Peninsula during September. One of our nights was spent in the village of Amqui, Quebec. During an evening stroll we came across this Peace Pole (see attached photos). I timidly knocked on the door to inquire about its her/history and was so pleasantly received by the homeowner. In our broken French and English, we had a warm conversation.

My understanding is that the Peace Pole was planted in memory of a deceased friend passionate about peace. 

I told the lovely home owner that I would contact MPPOE office for information and then email her my findings.
