River Phoenix Center dedicates Peace Pole, Gainesville, FL

A Peace Pole was dedicated at the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding in Gainesville, FL.  A group of twenty two friends and family gathered to remember their joint efforts in starting an environmental center over 30 years ago.  It was a perfect occasion to dedicated a Peace Pole in gratitude to their collective lifelong commitment in creating a better world for all of us.

The River Phoenix Center of Peacebuilding is guided by the life and activism of River Phoenix, eldest son of Heart Phoenix who runs the Center with Jeffrey.    The Center honors his dedication and courageous contribution to the wellbeing of all life on our planet. River’s approach was “solution-based” and the Center is dedicated to following this path by teaching restorative justice and practices to youth and adults alike.
