Ten Peace Poles in stalled a decade ago on hiking trail in Canton of St. Gallen – SWITZERLAND
Submitted February 16, 2024
In 2014, a path, comprised of ten Peace Poles was installed along a hiking trail in Switzerland. Each of the (10) Peace Poles have 2 signs bearing the peace message, ‘May Peace Prevail On Earth’ and 2 signs with general messages of peace, preselected by the Parish, words such as, ‘peace is the way.’
There is a lovely flyer containing photographs and information about the Swiss peace path which is handed out to tourists from the local Swiss hotels.
Masahisa Goi is mentioned on page 3 along with explanations to the 3rd Peace Pole on the path. Notes about the hiking trail:It takes about 90 minutes to complete the entire route. Ithas an hourly bus service serving the beginning andConnects the end point of the Peace Path. The hiking trail begins at the Catholic church, the Degersheim Church With the first Peace Pole. The second Peace Pole is on the village square – from the village square you go back.to the catholic Church and then up the mountain. Thenceforth the path follows the official hiking trail to Magdenau.
Only the sixth Peace Pole is not directly there.on the marked hiking trail, but about 50m from its Path away at the edge of the forest. A sign points to it trail to the post. The beautiful view rewarded for the little detour through the forest.Of course, you can also take the path to the monastery. Start in Madgenau and finish in Degersheim.
