Thank you, Pete Clapinski – Peace Pole Maker in Australia, Passes the Baton after nine years.
February 13, 2024
Pete Clapinski of Geelong, Australia served as our Peace Pole Maker for Australia and the entire Pacific region. For nine years his passion and dedication has inspired the planting of 600 Peace Poles throughout Australia and the region thanks to the support of local Rotary Clubs of Australia. The torch as Peace Pole Maker has been passed from Pete to Heidi Unferdorben of Adelaide, a Rotarian, who shines bright with her passionate commitment in crafting Peace Poles for the region.
We post here some words of gratitude from the entire May Peace Prevail On Earth International team to Pete as he embarks on his next journey on the path of Life.

On behalf of May Peace Prevail On Earth International, the Goi Peace Foundation and Byakko Shinko Kai we express our deepest gratitude to you Pete for crafting Peace Poles for the peace community in Australia for all these years. You started with your sincere love for humanity and over the years you have spread that love throughout the continent by making Peace Poles for so many others who share the same vision of one global family. As we say in Japan, “you have stored treasures in heaven”and the heavens will shower you with so much gratitude as you shift into a new phase of life hopefully filled with travel, leisure and heartfelt times. No doubt you will never forget the connections with all the Peace Poles you have crafted and helped to plant across the land. All those peace poles will continue to shine the light and keep awakening hearts forever. Thank you Pete. Thank you. Thank you.
Peace Poles now stand in almost every elementary school in Melbourne. Pete’s Peace Poles have touched hearts. Pete shares with us a story of one of those peace poles working to heal the community.
“I visited the Hillcrest Primary School down in Tasmania and spoke with a teacher there. They suffered a disastrous occurrence at their annual fair. An inflatable jumping castle was blown into the air by a freak wind gust. Six students who were on the castle fell to their death in front of their classmates, mentally scarring the witnesses for life. The teacher said she was amazed at how groups of the children would randomly gather under their peace pole to talk about what happened. She believed it was the start of their healing. We may never know the impacts of what we do, but that is ok.“
Surely, the impact of each and every Peace Pole planted on Earth ripples out collectively to heal the World.
May Peace Prevail On Earth
Infinite Gratitude Pete Clapinski
