March 24, 2025
Rotary District 3055 in USA and Rotary District 3060 in INDIA collaborated on this project.

The Gandhi Pathway to Peace Walk, commemorates the Mahatma Gandhi’s famous Salt March of 1930.
The original march was a nonviolent protest, against British salt laws, where Gandhi and his followers walked about 240 miles from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, Gujarat, to make salt as an act of civil obedience.

The modern Peace Walk retraces this historic route to honor Gandhi’s legacy of nonviolent resistance. It usually attracts people from all over the world who walk to promote peace, justice, and equality. The walk often includes discussions, cultural events, and reflections on Gandhi’s principles.

This year’s event included a Peace Pole dedication ceremony at the Smt. Lilavatiben Mohanlal Shah (Bilimarwala) Eye Hospital.
