Rotary Peace Pole Event: Peace Through Actions
On February 19, 2025, the Rotary Peace Pole event took place, gathering 32 charitable organizations for an evening of unity, giving, and spreading peace. This fourth annual event, held at the local Community Center near the peace pole aimed to celebrate and promote peace through collaboration, bringing together a diverse group of community leaders, volunteers, and philanthropists who are committed to making a positive impact. With a theme of Peace Through Actions, the event marked a significant milestone in Rotary’s ongoing efforts to foster global peace and understanding.
A Gathering of 32 Charitable Organizations
The heart of the Rotary Peace Pole event was the gathering of 32 charitable organizations, each playing an integral role in fostering peace and providing support to those in need. These organizations, ranging from local food banks to international groups of service, showcased their missions, shared their stories, and highlighted their efforts toward creating a more peaceful world. The event offered attendees the chance to connect with a broad spectrum of causes, allowing for potential collaborations and partnerships aimed at amplifying their collective impact.

Let’s not forget a story such as the connection of a Rotaract youth and a Rotary Club with the goal of planting a peace pole at their local college. The Peace Pole will be there for generations to come. Also, a woman from Inner Wheel said with enthusiasm that the community finally had a chance to get reacquainted with our work with prosthetics. Her words resonated with many, as attendees walked by the display, learning about the organization’s efforts to provide prosthetic limbs and mobility aids to individuals who lost limbs due to accidents or disease. Through generous donations and local partnerships, Inner Wheel has been able to restore the ability for people to walk, work, and thrive again. The event acted as a bridge for the community to reconnect with the humanitarian work happening right at their doorstep.

Another said she appreciated having her display table next to one of the biggest maker and distributer of water filters in the world. I have hope we can work together now that we know one another. Lastly, our City Manager explaining, “We were hit hard by the hurricanes, but what we’ve seen is truly remarkable. The Rotary Club and its partners rallied together—providing relief and helping our people rebuild,” the City Manager explained. “Our community showed an incredible amount of strength. We didn’t just bounce back; we became stronger, more connected, and more compassionate. Rotary’s response to the disasters exemplified what true service looks like.
