Hiroshima Day 70th Anniversary Commemoration – August 5 in Central Park, New York-USA
August 5, 2015
The World Peace Prayer Society helped to commemorate Hiroshima Day in New York at Strawberry Fields in New York’s Central Park on the evening of August 5, 2015 to coordinate with events in Japan.
Bells were rung for a Moment of Silence at the time the atomic bomb exploded 70 years ago. The Society’s UN Representative, Deborah Moldow, brought along a small Peace Pole for Rev. Earl Ikeda’s altar and was invited to speak.
Everyone held hands singing, and the prayer “May Peace Prevail on Earth” was recited multiple times by all present.
