“This is the 17th year for this Prayer Gathering on Earth Day,” said Rev. Dr. Arlyn Macdonald, Senior Minister of the Spiritual Awareness Center. “It is an inter-faith, inter-spiritual gathering to honor Mother Earth and to pray for her healing. Individuals are encouraged to add their own prayers for healing.”

The group will also be blessing the park and the river. “We are so fortunate to have this beautiful park right across the street from the Ute Indian Museum filled with native plants and located next to the river with a boardwalk for easy access,” she added. “We appreciate the Museum for their partnership in installing this Peace Pole in the park.”

The Park encompasses approximately 125,000 acres around a 25-mile stretch of the Mancos River, and is located in the Mesa Verde/Mancos Canyon area just outside the boundaries of the National Park.
