Franklin Academy Pembroke Pines K-8’s Peace Pole ceremony on Day of Love and Giving, Pembroke Pines, Florida-USA
Submitted: March 7, 2024
PEACE POLE PLANTED: FEBRUARY 14TH, 2024.
We installed our Peace Pole at our school on February 14, 2024. In our county, that day is recognized as a Day of Love and Giving. We thought it would be a great day to add Peace to our school initiative. We had a beautiful dedication ceremony that morning where our very talented Lisa Martinez, who won the Peace Poster Contest for our county, was invited back to our school (she’s in high school now) to share in the festivities and be recognized for her talent. Due to Lisa’s great talent, our school, Franklin Academy Pembroke Pines K-8, received the beautiful and meaningful Peace Pole.
We were thrilled to learn that we were going to be a part of the Peace Pole Project as we had learned about it from the poster contest. During our dedication, each elementary class placed a painted rock around the Peace Pole. Each middle school class painted a brick which surrounds the rocks.
We are so honored to be a part of this worldwide project.
